Marc Nothelfer

Marc Nothelfer, born September 7th 1979 in Cologne (Germany), lives and works currently in Frankfurt/ Main (Germany).

In my artistic production I use all different kind of media. Doing so, one may find sculptures, ephemeral interventions or sound- and video-installations in my recent body of work. To look at it whether it is taking place in a “white cube” or as being located in a “public space” my work seems to be concerned about its contextual references, fathoming the borderlines of spatial and temporal actuality. On a deeper, more methodological or conceptual level one may find that my work is concerned with implications of social power and forms of contemporary capitalistic production. My approach on this has never been to didactically focus on certain pathologies but to try to search for arbitrary phenomena and (poetic) areas of “in between”.
