I'm a freelance curator, art writer and educator living in Berlin. I love blogging on art. I'm a lecturer of art writing and cultural theory at Node Center for Curatorial Studies. Together with my Creative Forms in Art Writing class I published a series of e-books, of which the last one was about storytelling in art writing. My curatorial career started at the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum of Contemporary Art, Berlin, in 2009, co-curating an exhibition of Paul Pfeiffer and, in 2010, together with Wolfgang Müller the exhibition Pause. Valeska Gert: Bewegte Fragmente. Since then I've curated in a variety of exhibition spaces, like Eigen + Art Lab, Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, and insitu. 2017 I curated the show Up and Down at KINDL - Centre for Contemporary Art, Berlin, about the intersections between subculture and high culture. I studied cultural history at the University of Leuven, Belgium, where I obtained a PhD which materialised itself in a book publication in Dutch on the cultural criticism of the Belgian avant-garde in the 1920s. I continued as a post-doc fellow researching on Berlin 1920s urban photography at UC Berkeley, Columbia University New York and Humboldt-University Berlin before switching to the contemporary art world.
