International exchanges form the core of the activities of the HIAP residency programme. Exchange agreements are developed on a long-term and reciprocal basis with several city councils, residency centres, cultural organisations, art museums and galleries worldwide. The aim of the exchanges is to offer dialogue, collaboration and networking opportunities and to foster mutually beneficial cultural interaction between the participating countries and regions.
Currently, exchange programmes are maintained with organisations in Dublin, Farrera, Frankfurt, Seoul and Strasbourg. Further exchanges are being planned for the future.
All exchanges are organised in collaboration with FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange and other art organisations.
