Evelyn Simons
Evelyn Simons (b.1989, BE) is a curator and writer based in Brussels. Her practice operates on the intersection between site-specific art, transdisciplinary collaboration and discursive activities. She facilitates artistic experiment by working at the crossroads between art, nightlife, music, architecture, performance and fashion.
She curated exhibitions in Luxemburg, Germany, France, Greece and Belgium. From 2018 till 2023, she led the visual arts and performance programme at Horst Arts & Music. Prior to that, she was at Fondation CAB where she launched an artist-in-residence programme. She holds an MA in Art History (Ghent University) and a Postgraduate in Curatorial Studies (KASK Ghent). She is the co-founder of RendezVous – Brussels Art Week.
Evelyn Simons’s residency is realised in the context of HICP – Helsinki International Curatorial Programme, a collaboration between Frame Contemporary Art Finland and HIAP.
