Ida Haukka
Ida Haukka (b. 2001, Denmark) is a Helsinki-based artist whose practice explores themes of folklore, body and alienation. Along their personal work Haukka also shares a practice with their colleague titled Toukka, that explores friendship and the contradictions of life through music, performance and fantasy.
My work is rooted in somatic experience and intuitively merges digital and physical mediums. I am seeking to understand the effects the interplay of these realms has on how we experience our bodies and identities, and how it changes our perception of reality. Currently I’m working on an installation consisting of a sculpture, video and sound, that deals with the relationship between the body and its environment. I’ve been experimenting a lot with paper mache, bioplastics, and digital tools like AI and various softwares.
