Through an interactive environment in the Cable Gallery, the Swiss media artists and performers Sibylle Hauert (b. 1966) and Daniel Reichmuth (b. 1964) aim to provoke thoughts about the relationship between human and machine, while playfully dealing with artificial intelligence. Inherent to their work are references to the world of computer games, the invention and historical development of electricity, computers, automatons – and generally to the concept of invention itself. TRiCKSTR is part of the Cartes Flux 2010 – Festival of New Media Art, hosted by the Cartes Centre of Art and Technology, Espoo. The work will be on show at the Cable Gallery from October 8 to October 23, 2010.
