Virve Lukka’s exhibition includes paintings from the series’ Visible World and Highlights (2009–2010).

The focal point of Visible World evolves around the fascination and peculiarity of viewing things around us. Moving human beings coupled together with members of fauna are seen within the pictorial of the paintings. The paintings reflect thoughts relating to the diversity of visual perceptions. The existing forms extend and flow while the circumstances change, whilst this visible world already borderlines obscurity.

Highlights is a series of portraits displayed in darkness. The influence of light promotes various features on the faces and heads. The inability to see the faces entirely conveys a similarity between the paintings and the meeting or introduction of an unknown person.
