The Tokyo-based Japanese artists Mika Yoshida and Mari Murata (also known as the Art & Design unit wm,), are showing in Finland for the first time, at the Cable Gallery in Helsinki from July 15 to August 1, 2010.

The two artists’ new installations reflect various aspects of everyday life. When contemplating life and death, Mika and Mari developed the as yet unfinished Our Life Plate project. They invite visitors to carry on the project during the exhibition. The names of famous personalities, family members and friends, along with their years of birth and, where relevant, also the years of their deaths, are written on plexiglas plates and pinned to the gallery walls in chronological, date-of-birth order.
