HIAP Residency Programme / workspace residency / 2025

HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme invites Finland-based artists (and artist groups) to apply a workspace residency at HIAP Gallery Augusta during the period January 2025-February 2025. The residency duration can range from 2 weeks to 2 months. The artist can use the whole gallery space, or part of the space, according to the needs.

The residency is meant for artists, who need a larger space to develop a specific artwork/project independently. We welcome applicants from all art disciplines. The open call is open for individual artists, as well as for working groups. In this open call we prioritise proposals which are related to an upcoming exhibition/performance/etc, while in other open calls we emphasise the opportunity for open-ended research and exploration.

The artist can also request to stay in a HIAP Suomenlinna residency apartment during the residency. The HIAP Suomenlinna residency apartments which are 30 sqm each, furnished, and include a kitchenette and a bathroom. The apartments can house up to two people at a time. Please note that pets are not allowed in the apartments.

The residency does not involve financial obligations or support (the resident does not have to pay a fee to HIAP, and there is no working grant or production budget from HIAP). HIAP also cannot cover any transportation costs. The workspace residency is for independent, self-organised work and is separate from the general HIAP residency programme. It does not include the possibility of taking part in the HIAP Open Studios event (which will be organised in March 2025).

You can find photos, layout and other information about HIAP Gallery Augusta here.

The deadline for the applications is Thursday, August 15th, 2024 (11:59 pm, GMT +3).
