Gaia Carboni

Gaia Carboni (b. 1980)

As HIAP artist-in-residence, Gaia Carboni will focus on her interest in deeply exploring the role of the city as the place which mostly achieves the best expressions of handcraft, glass manifacture, industrial design and architecture. Her intention is to develop a project that combines local applied arts referring to the topics of her artistic research, which is oriented in a assimilation of images and forms which are melted together and developed in new concrete forms realized in different material and technique. Carboni’s aim is to produce a series of works, experimenting in techniques and materials, even industrial ones, inspired by the architecture of Alvar Aalto.
