Past Residents Heidi Kilpeläinen
Heidi Kilpeläinen (b.1966) is a Finnish born artist living and working in London. Kilpeläinen’s multidisciplinary practice ranges from video, performance, installation, sculpture, painting and drawing to costumes and sound.
Kilpeläinen has released three albums under the name HK119 on One Little Indian Records (London). She is also the designer of HK119 Imaginature Collection.
During the HIAP residency Kilpeläinen will begin the first part of a body of work, which deals with an overwhelmed state of being in a dismal, post-political reality. Composing fragments of vocalised expressions of emotional states, the piece weaves image, sound and performance into an audio visual poem; a symphony of disgust.
