Ignas Krunglevičius
Ignas Krunglevičius (Lithuania, b.1979) lives and works in Oslo.
He was academically trained in music composition at Norges Musikkhøgskole. Krunglevičius works as a visual artist and composer, investigating the psychology of power play and mind-control mechanisms through installation, video, and sound works. He uses documentary material from transcripts of group-therapy sessions, police interrogations, and psychiatric-interview manuals. He is interested in uncovering the coded systems are used in society to control individuals and situations. He was nominated for the “Nam June Paik Award 2010”, received the “Sparebankstiftelsen DnB NOR Stipendutstilling Art Prize”, and showed at the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Art Festival in November 2009, where he received an “Honorary Mention”.
