Julie Delporte

Julie Delporte (b. 1983) has both French and Canadian citizenship. She currently lives in Montreal where she publishes graphic novels, children’s books and zines. She is the author of Everywhere Antennas (Drawn & Quarterly, 2014) and Journal (Koyama Press, 2013 in English and L’Agrume, 2014). She has published a French children’s book (Je suis un raton laveur, La Courte Échelle, 2013), as well as some short pieces in L’employé du Moi (Belgium) and in various anthologies. In 2011–12 she was a fellow at the Center for Cartoon Studies (White River Junction, Vermont, USA).

Delporte used to organise Montreal’s forty-eight hour comics festival and newsprint anthology, and she still runs a comics-centric radio show in Montréal. She also wrote an essay on the intersection of blogging, comics, and autobiography, published by Colosse.

The residency is realised in collaboration with The Finnish Comics Society.
