Matt Boyce

Matt Boyce (b. 1981)is a comic artist based in London who teaches comic and sequential art courses at Citylit in Covent Garden, London.

The residency is realised in collaboration with The Finnish Comics Society.He will work with the deaf residents of Helsinki to create biographical comics about themselves, their lives, the importance of sign language and the way they feel they are perceived by the rest of society.

Matt Boyce is himself a native signer, having grown up in a family with deaf parents, and will be working on his own comic narrative works exploring these themes.
