Pia Sandström

Pia Sandström (b. 1969) lives and works in Stockholm.

Thematically, her ideas revolve around the concept of memory, tacit knowledge, a wish to share experiences with others, and the life of the heart. Often text-based, they take their point of departure from an interest in social relationships and how environments influence people. It is a stance that opens both emotionally and at the same time welcomes actual participation by the audience. She has also exhibited her work in many international solo and group exhibitions, including at Moderna museet and Kiasma.
