pick nick

pick nick is an art group based in Cyprus and initiated in 2012 by Alkis Hadjiandreou, Panayiotis Michael, Maria Petrides. pick nick works have been presented in Cyprus, Istanbul and Berlin.

pick nick brings together various means and practices of research to set up artworks often in collaboration with fellow artists, writers, and curators. Remaking conditions, public and/or otherwise, the group’s practice leans on generating a poetics of perception, accentuating ideas played out by difference, (geographical), social and spatial. Audience engagement is invariably imagined as a contiguous fragment of the works, crucial for activating critical ways of seeing. Selected projects by pick nick include, Symphonic Node, …do delay, Dandilands, The one(s) I love, and Wild Greens.

A three-month residency at Capacete, Rio de Janeiro will follow from September to November 2016.
