Sybil Montet

Sybil Montet is a French artist and 3D director. Her work explores the esoteric potentials of emerging technologies and their influence on collective unconscious, and investigates resonances between computation and the living world through forms and phantasms.

She develops a fictional and critical ecosystem informed by science fiction and fantasy, via computer graphics, sculpture and painting, and also explores experimental applications of AI. After studying high jewelry at the École Boulle and obtaining a BA in special effects at SAE Paris, she began learning computer graphics and digital sculpture on her own.
Currently working on exhibitions in France & USA.

In the near future, ecological and social chaos reigns, driven by humanity’s attempts to control nature through a mysterious energy, the Orgone. Post-human characters navigate this turbulent landscape, confronted to existential questions about their place in the universe and the consequences of technological manipulation….

During my stay, I will concentrate on my upcoming 3D animated film, “Orgone”, an hybrid format at the intersection of immersive digital storytelling & interactive technology through AR. I will finalize the narrative structure, create first interactive sceneries in 3D, and collaborate with local artists & technicians to experiment with motion capture and AR.
