Tracey Warr
Tracey Warr (b. 1958)
Tracey Warr is a writer who has published both fiction and art writing. She is the Editor of The Artist’s Body (Phaidon, 2000) and has published on artists including James Turrell, Marcus Coates, Hayley Newman, Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva and Ackroyd & Harvey. She taught in Fine Art Departments at Oxford Brookes University, Dartington College of Arts and Bauhaus University. She is collaborating with London Fieldworks on Outlandia, an artists’ treehouse studio in the Scottish Highlands. She collaborated with artists Nomeda & Gediminas Urbonas on Split nik in the Moscow Biennale (2011) and River Runs at Modern Art Oxford (2012). River Runs explored the future of rivers with a series of research films featuring river-boat dwellers, environment agencies, lock-keepers, river historians and archaeologists. It focussed on the river Thames in Oxford (UK) and the river Charles in Boston (US), and involved the creation of a river-raft sculpture, workshops with adults and children, and an interdisciplinary symposium with swimmers, policymakers, artists and environmental scientists held in the river.
