Tuomas A. Laitinen
Tuomas A. Laitinen is an artist working mainly with film, light and installation. For his recent project, he has been researching geopolitical and urban developments both in China and in the US. In 2012, he made series of works where the aim was to map and reimagine the extensive underground infrastructure of Helsinki. He holds an MFA from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
In recent years, Laitinen’s works have been shown in an invitational exhibition for Paulo Foundation, Times Museum in Guangdong, China, Kunsthalle Helsinki Studio, Hämeenlinna Art Museum, Gothenburg Konsthall, Helsinki art museum, Riga art space, Moca – Shanghai Museum of Contemporary art, Visningrommet USF in Bergen and in Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art among others. In 2013 he was a recipient of the prize of the foundation of the Finnish Art Academy.
