Past Residents Yao Ana
Yao Ana (b. 1987) Beijing
Yao Ana works for Times Art Museum (founded in 2008). It is the first private non-profit art museum, which was established in Central Business District in Beijing and an international professional institution, which works mostly with classic realism and contemporary Chinese as well as international art. Times Art Museum emphasizes its support for the production of new and experimental work, helping to open new pathways for artistic development. The programme focuses on new developments in international art, as well as on the changing contemporary positions of established or older-generation artists.
The residency was realised in context of Urban Agents programme which aims to develop projects in China and Hong Kong in collaboration with Finnish Artists. The programme is curated by Marita Muukkonen.
